About Me
I am a Counseling Psychology PhD Candidate with eight years of clinical research experience across university and hospital settings. My research background includes examining depression, anxiety, body image, and disordered eating using methods ranging from neuroimaging to qualitative interviewing which provides me with a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary perspective on mental health research. You can access my CV here.
For my dissertation, I will be conducting a three-arm randomized trial testing an online single-session intuitive eating intervention that I designed and piloted alongside my PhD advisor and a multidisciplinary team. Our pilot study was the first intuitive eating intervention study to center transdiagnostic outcomes, and results suggested that: a) intuitive eating increased following the online single session intervention and b) symptoms of disordered eating, depression, and anxiety all decreased significantly over time following the intervention. My dissertation will compare the single-session intervention to an infographic handout and a waitlist control.
As a clinician, I have completed doctoral practica at three Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals (McLean Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital) at residential and outpatient levels of care. I develop individualized case conceptualizations informed by a biopsychosocial model and cultural humulity to guide evidence-based care. I use a variety of cognitive-behavioral approaches to enact change in sessions, drawing heavily on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and Unified Protocol CBT. I am a strengths-based, person-centered clinician who believes in every individual’s capacity to overcome fears and build healthier coping skills if provided a warm, non-judgemental therapeutic setting.
Finally, I am a partner and mother to a one-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old rescue dog named Waffles. I enjoy finding fun and laughter in the everyday moments of parenthood and spending time outdoors (or ‘side, as my daughter says).
